HOW TO USE
Apply a small amount of shampoo to wet hair and scalp. Gently massage with a scalp brush or fingertips until an even lather forms, then rinse thoroughly. Repeat the cleansing process (double cleansing is always recommended) during the second wash, allow the shampoo to act on the scalp for 2 - 3 minutes, then rinse carefully. For optimal results, combine with products from the corresponding Tricoderm hair-care programme.
WHY SHOULD THE HAIR BE WASHED 2 - 3 TIMES?
This is not a cosmetic habit, but a trichological treatment protocol. Effective scalp care and therapeutic results are achieved only when cleansing and active-ingredient absorption occur in the correct sequence.
First wash = Cleansing phase. The scalp is covered with sebum, sweat, dandruff, microbial biofilm, air pollution, silicones and styling-product residues. These form a barrier that prevents active ingredients from reaching the skin. The purpose of the first wash is to remove this surface layer and prepare the scalp for treatment.
Second wash = Active treatment phase. Once surface impurities and sebum have been removed, the shampoo’s active ingredients can penetrate into the epidermis and hair follicles. Therefore the second wash must be left on the scalp for 2 - 3 minutes, this is the so-called pharmacological contact time, during which active substances can exert their biological and therapeutic effects.
Third wash = deep protocol (if necessary). A third wash is required when the scalp is very oily, severe dandruff, seborrhoea or hyperkeratosis is present, or when heavy use of styling products has created a biofilm on the scalp. The third wash ensures that follicles are fully open, inflammatory residues are removed, and the scalp is therapeutically clean and maximally receptive to active ingredients.
SUMMARY
